SUMMARY:“Our Ocean Space Odyssey”
DESCRIPTION:MaRITeC-X project launches the event “Our Ocean Space Odyssey” and presents the plan for the establishment of the Cyprus Marine & Maritime Institute (CMMI). \nFriday\, 13th of July\, at 19:30\, in the Visitors’ Centre of the Ancient Kition archaeological area in Larnaka. \nMaRITeC-X project sets in motion our efforts to build in Cyprus a Centre of Excellence\, the Cyprus Marine & Maritime Institute (CMMI). By August 2018\, the business plan of the Centre will be submitted to the EU. This will be followed in November 2018 by a Phase 2 project proposal. Successful proposals will receive up to 15 million euros from European funds as well as an equal amount of matching funds from national sources. If our Phase 2 proposal is successful\, MaRITeC-X will have 7 years to set up the CMMI and in particular it’s physical plant and its scientific and human infrastructure. During the “Our Ocean Space Odyssey” event\, we will present to Government officials and local and international Blue Economy stakeholders\, results of our project so far and especially our plan for the establishment of the Cyprus Marine & Maritime Institute (CMMI). \nBecome part of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) and get on board the most important investment on marine and maritime research\, technology and innovation in Cyprus. \nAfter the event\, a cocktail reception will follow. A detailed agenda will be available soon. \n  \n
