The Blue Career Fair 2018 is taking place on the 11th, 13th & 14th of December in Nicosia, Larnaka & Limassol

The Blue Career Fair 2018 will be held on the 11th, 13th and 14th of December in Nicosia (University of Cyprus, Building 07, Auditorium 010), Larnaka (Municipal Theatre) and Limassol (Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry) respectively.

The event is organized in the framework of the EU-funded MENTOR project which aims at the creation of the Blue Career Centre for the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea, a regional platform that will actively promote dialogue and synergies between various local, regional and European stakeholders, so that they jointly develop and carry out measures to close the skill gap, tackle unemployment and make “blue careers” more attractive to the young people.

The overarching aim of the event is to raise awareness amongst the younger generation with regard to the Marine and Maritime industry and to explore the opportunities of a sea or shore based career. The event has been organized for the past five years and as a result of its success, it is taking place again this year in order to bring together career counselors, secondary school students, university students, unemployed graduates and professionals in one forum.

In this context, distinguished professionals and academics from the Marine and Maritime industry will present their different disciplines by delivering presentations where they will highlight the specific qualifications required, the duties and responsibilities that each discipline entails, as well as the future employment and career development opportunities.
