From 17 to 19 January, 2017 the M20 Project Meeting was held in Piraeus, Greece, in conjunction with the Mid-scale Demonstration in MS Thomson Spirit in the port of Piraeus. The demonstration was a huge success.
Thanks to Celestyal Cruises and Thomson Spirit’s staff, the Lynceus2Market technical-oriented consortium members’ committed teams and the Project’s Technical Manager Dr. Antonis Kalis, who managed to efficiently coordinate the technical efforts, the results were more than satisfactory. This gives us the strength to proceed to the next, more challenging goal: Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas.
It goes without saying that congratulations are in order for all Technical partners that of the project, for the great results during last week’s demo!
Some highlights of the demo appear in the photos below:
The Story
The minute we hit the emergency button we were able to have a clear view of the ship’s situation (pic No1). Passengers, crew, children were all there on screen. We were able to see how many people had moved to Muster Stations, how many had boarded life boats, and where we should send our search teams.
The Result
Onboard safety made easy for the Captain and the safety officers.
Being ‘Smart’
What is so special about the life-jackets (pic No2)? Once you wear them, you are safer not only onboard, but overboard too.
Thats why JRCC Larnaca is proud to be the first to test the new Lynceus overboard localization system (pic No3).
